TRAGIC Kayla Carey wanted to be young forever, her funeral mass heard today.
The six-year-old girl died after being struck down by meningitis last week.

Hundreds of family and friends gathered this morning in Kayla’s native Navan, Co Meath, as she was laid to rest.
Fr Kevin Heery told the funeral Mass the little angel wanted to be small forever.
The priest said: “Kayla enjoyed being a young girl and she said she wanted to stay small forever.
“It breaks our heart that her little aspiration came true as we pray that heaven will reunite us.”

Heartbroken parents Geraldine and Martin, sister Faith and brother Brooklyn fought backs tears during the emotional service at St Mary’s Church in Navan.
Mourners were told Kayla loved seeing everyone happy.
Fr Heery said: “Kayla had a lovely, quite little way about her.
“She was so sensitive to other children, she always wanted to see them happy.”

Prayers were also said for Kayla’s cousin Jasmine, ten, who remains in hospital after she too was diagnosed with meningitis.
The two children diagnosed with the illness attended the same school, Scoil Mhuire in Navan.
The cousins were diagnosed on Thursday and rushed to Temple Street Hospital in Dublin where Kayla died a short time after.
